GalMed Medical Research executives are:
 
Prof. Tuvia Gilat, CEO & CSO
Prof. (Emeritus) Gilat is the founder and former Head of the Dept of Gastroenterology, Tel-Aviv Medical Center. He was also Founder and former Director of Minerva Center for Cholesterol Gallstones and Lipid Metabolism in the Liver, Tel Aviv University, and Max Planck Institute, Germany. At present he acts as Chief Scientific Officer at GalMed Medical Research.
Dr. Itzchak Angel, Ph.D. , V.P. Business Development
Dr. Angel is an accomplished executive in Pharmaceutical Industry, with over 20 years experience in guiding strategic drug- and business- development in both large and emerging Companies who effectively established Discovery, Research and Development Teams and Projects and brought several pharmaceutical drugs to market.
Allen Baharaff is a trained solicitor and a member of the Israeli Bar since 1993. He holds a Bsc. Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a MA. Llb. degree from Cambridge University. At present he acts as a Managing Director of a subsidiary of a Swiss private wealth management company and as GalMed's CFO. Prior to that he enjoyed a strategic consultancy career with a leading management consulting firm.
      
      Dr. Ziva Galili 
 Dr. Galili has extensive experience in both the research and industrial aspects of immunology and cell biology. Prior to joining Galmed, she served as the Head of in Vitro Pharmacology department at Pharmos, LTD. Prior thereto, she was working as a senior scientist at XTL Biophrmaceuticals,and Before that, Dr. Galili was a member of the biotechnology core team and the head of the biology lab of BRg, Bio Regenerate,.Dr. Galili holds a PhD. and MSC degrees in Microbiology and Immunology from Bar Ilan University, Israel
 
GalMed's Professional Team

GalMed Medical Research R&D team is comprised of 8-10 researchers including M.D.'s, Ph.D's, and M.Sc's in addition to technicians and part time students. Director of Research: Prof. Tuvia Gilat M.D.

In its R&D activities, GalMed collaborates scientifically with leading research groups worldwide. This method of work allows for a continuous scrutiny of the scientific results by dedicated specialized research groups for each of the FABAC indications. Moreover, most of the scientific data were peer reviewed and published by leading scientific publications such as GUT (2001), Lipids (2001), Hepatology (2002,2003), Pathobiology (2003), Biochemical Society Transactions (2004),  Biochem J. (2006) and others.

Collaborations are on a contract or cooperative basis.

Scientific Advisory Board

The multiplicity of the FABAC effects and uses demanded the establishment of a multi-disciplinary scientific advisory board, the members of which are:

Prof. Tuvia Gilat M.D. (Chairman)
Prof. (Emeritus) Gilat is the founder and former Head of the Dept of Gastroenterology, Tel-Aviv Medical Center. He was also  Founder and former Director of Minerva Center for Cholesterol Gallstones and Lipid Metabolism in the Liver, Tel Aviv University, and Max Planck Institute, Germany. At present he acts as Chief Scientific Officer at GalMed Medical Research. 

Prof. Albert Kornelis Groen Ph.D., AMC Liver Center, Amsterdam
Prof. Groen is a leading researcher in Molecular Biology in the fields of Cholesterol metabolism, Liver & Gallstone pathophysiology and intestinal absorption. He is an associate professor at the Department of Gastroenterology, Academic Medical Center Amsterdam and Chief Scientific Officer of MacroZyme (Dutch based biotech company). 
 
Prof. Paolo Parini M.D. Ph.D., Karolinska Institute, Stockholm
Prof. Parini is a Senior researcher at the Division of Clinical Chemistry, Department of Laboratory Medicine, Karolinska Institutet at Huddinge University Hospital,  Huddinge, Sweden and  formerly a researcher in the lab of Prof. Larry L. Rudel, Dept. of Comparative Medicine, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC, USA.

Prof. Fred Meir Konikoff M.D.MSC., Golda Meir Medical Center, Kfar-Saba
Prof. Konikoff is a noted researcher in the fields of cholesterol solubility and crystallization. He is also  Head of the Dept of Gastroenterology, Meir Medical Center and Director of Minerva Center for Cholesterol Gallstones and Lipid Metabolism in the Liver, Tel Aviv University.
 
Prof. Zamir Halpern M.D., Sourasky Medical Center, Tel-Aviv
Prof. Halpern is a Senior Researcher in Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary diseases. He is the Head of the Dept of Gastroenterology, Tel-Aviv Medical Center and a member of the Scientific council for the Minerva Center for Cholesterol Gallstones and Lipid Metabolism in the Liver, Tel Aviv University.
